Coping with COVID-19

As everything begins to slowly reopen we all understand how difficult it can be. As much as we’d all like things to be normal again, many of us aren’t even sure what that looks like anymore. Face masks are required to be worn everywhere, hours of operations have all changed and many events and programs for the summer have been cancelled. So how do we get back to normal? How do we cope with the changes that COVID has left behind?

Listen, we here at Trendy Wristbands totally understand what you’re going through and we want to help in any way we can. So to start, we want to give you 2 very helpful tips that you can use to cope with the challenges that COVID has presented in the last few months.

Count Your Blessings

Yes, I know. We’ve all heard this phrase before and most say it’s a cliche but it is a really helpful one. Especially in these times. So many people have lost so much. From jobs, to homes to loved ones. If you are someone that has lost anyone, our condolences go out to you and your family and you are certainly in our prayers. If you aren’t one of those who has lost someone, well, there’s your first blessing. In times like this, it’s very common for us to focus on what we don’t have and what we’ve lost. However, you can easily change your perspective by beginning to count the little things that you do have. I know right now it might not feel like it’s much, but when you actually take the time to begin to count things one by one, you’ll slowly see how the blessings begin to add up.

Find the positive

Ok, before you throw a rock at the computer and never choose to shop with Trendy Wristbands again for suggesting that you find the positives hear me out. Again, just like counting your blessings it can be hard yet very powerful. And though they might sound the same, they are different. Counting your blessings is deliberately looking for the things you have in your life rather than the lack thereof. Finding the positive is looking at the glass half full rather than half empty. For instance, if you’ve lost a job, rather than being worried or upset look at the positives.

Now you might be the perfect time to turn some of those “One day” goals into “Today.” It also might be a perfect time to consider a different career path if you didn’t like the job you used to have anyways. Or if you’re hating the quarantine, a positive side to that is you now have the time to binge watch some shows, discover new things you like, get to know yourself better or spend time with family. Yes, the things that have happened in the last few months have certainly been negative ones but there can be some positives to come out of it. See if you can find some.

I hope these tips help you in this time of need. It’s been tough but we’ve made it through. And as we begin to reopen we will see the economy begin to rebuild and we will all be able to rebuild our lives. Our hope is that you continue to stay safe, count your blessings and look at the positive side of things. We know it’s been rough but we will all make it through.
